Media Training

Janet is a trained trainer, who has developed and delivers courses on how to operate as a freelance, research, negotiation and telephone skills and voice training. She has worked for North West Vision + Media as a career mentor for young graduates entering the Media industry, and for the University of Salford, lecturing in research skills and documentary making.

Clare is joint course leader for Journalism at Sheffield Hallam University. She has also taught media skills to students at a number of other colleges and universities, and to community radio volunteers.

We specialise in providing media training for women from all walks of life, from managers to midwives, educators to environmentalists, company directors to charity workers. Whether you belong to a large organisation or a small community group, if you want to know how to put your message across more effectively, we can show you.

We tailor our media training to individual needs. Among the areas we can cover are:

  • Press releases – what’s the story, and what’s the best way to ‘sell’ it
  • Handling Press enquiries – positive and negative
  • Dealing with local and national newspapers and magazines…
  • …and with local and national radio and television
  • How to feel confident in front of a microphone…
  • …and in front of a TV camera
  • Tricks of the trade – what are journalists looking for exactly?
  • Feel free to contact either Janet or Clare to find out more.
